Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 23, 2026 Effective Date: July 23, 2026
Screeny turns your screenshots and screen recordings into device mockups. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
TL;DR: Your screenshots never leave your device. We collect a small amount of anonymous usage analytics to improve the app. No accounts, no ads, no selling data.
Data Controller: Lazare Kolebka Email: hello@getscreeny.app Address: Rue Georges Rency, 28, 1200 Brussels, Belgium
Your Screenshots and Recordings
They stay on your device. All framing, status bar cleaning, background rendering, and video processing happens locally on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Your images and videos are never uploaded, and we have no server that could receive them.
The mockups you create are saved where you choose (your Photos library, Files, or the share sheet) and nowhere else.
What Data We Collect
Usage Analytics (PostHog)
We collect anonymous usage information: things like how often the app is opened, which features are used, and what device model you’re on. This helps us fix bugs and decide what to build next.
- No name, no email, no personal identifiers
- No tracking across other apps or websites
- You can opt out any time in Settings → Privacy inside the app
Purchases (RevenueCat)
Export credits and Screeny Pro purchases are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat using an anonymous, per-install identifier. We see aggregate sales data from Apple. Never your identity or payment details.
Backend Services (Firebase)
Two features talk to our backend, hosted on Google Firebase:
- Unsplash search: when you search background photos, your search term is sent through our proxy to Unsplash. Search terms are not linked to you.
- Export credits: your anonymous credit balance is stored server-side so it can’t be tampered with, keyed to the same anonymous identifier.
Requests are verified with Apple’s App Attest to keep abuse out. None of this involves your name, email, or screenshots.
iCloud Sync
Presets, custom colors, and gradients sync through your personal iCloud account (CloudKit). That data lives in your private iCloud database. We can’t read it.
What We Don’t Do
- We don’t collect your name, email, location, or contacts
- We don’t run ads or use advertising SDKs
- We don’t fingerprint you or track you across apps
- We don’t sell data: there’s nothing to sell

If You Contact Us
If you email hello@getscreeny.app, we’ll have whatever you choose to share (like your email address). We use it only to reply and help you. It stays in our inbox. Never sold, never shared.
Your Rights (GDPR)
You can request access, correction, or deletion of any data associated with you. Since almost everything is anonymous or on your device, there’s usually little to nothing for us to look up, but email us and we’ll help: hello@getscreeny.app.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page and mention it in the app’s release notes.
