FAQ
Find answers to the most common questions about Screeny.
General
What is Screeny?
Screeny is an app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac that turns screenshots and screen recordings into polished device mockups and demo videos — with real device frames, clean 9:41 status bars, and animated keyframe zooms.
What devices does Screeny run on?
iPhone and iPad (iOS 26 or later) and Mac. It’s one universal purchase — buy once, use everywhere.
Which device frames are available?
All recent iPhones — the iPhone 15, 16, and 17 families plus iPhone Air — and iPads including iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro. Each in its real colors, from Cosmic Orange to Sky Blue.
Pricing
Is Screeny free?
Screeny is free to download and every feature is free to use. You get 10 free export credits when you start. After that, exporting costs credits — 1 per image, 3 per video.
What if I run out of credits?
Buy a one-time credit pack, subscribe to Screeny Pro (monthly or yearly) for unlimited exports, or get Screeny Pro Lifetime — pay once, unlimited forever. See Export Credits & Screeny Pro.
Do exports have a watermark?
Never. No watermark on any tier, including free.
Can I use mockups commercially?
Yes! Mockups created with Screeny can be used for any personal or commercial purpose — App Store listings, marketing, client work, presentations.
Privacy
Do my screenshots leave my device?
No. All processing — framing, status bar cleaning, video rendering — happens locally on your device. Your screenshots and recordings are never uploaded anywhere. See our Privacy Policy.
Features
What does the clean status bar do?
It replaces your real status bar (time, carrier, battery %) with Apple’s classic keynote style — 9:41, full signal, full battery — while preserving your app’s own background behind it. Details in the guide.
Does Screeny work with videos?
Yes. Import a screen recording, frame it, clean its status bar on every frame, add keyframe zoom animations, and export as MP4 — or MOV with a transparent background.
Can I export multiple screenshots at once?
Yes — batch import up to 10 images and videos, style them together, and export them all in one pass.
Does Screeny sync between devices?
Yes. Presets, custom colors, and gradients sync automatically through your personal iCloud.
What is the MCP server?
Screeny for Mac includes a built-in MCP server so AI tools like Claude Code and Cursor can create mockups for you. See Automate with AI.
Troubleshooting
Screeny isn’t in my share sheet
In the share sheet, scroll to the right, tap More, and enable Screeny.
My mockup looks blurry
Use the original screenshot at native resolution — screenshots that were shared through messaging apps are often compressed. Screeny exports at up to 3x canvas scale.
